Dr. Matt Barber, Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist
Dr. Matthew G. Barber began seeing patients at CHROMA in September of 2001. For almost two decades, Dr. Barber has worked diligently to provide cutting-edge eye care to the people of Fort Worth and its surrounding areas while providing a warm and friendly environment for his patients. He wanted to give the people of Fort Worth something unique and special, and so CHROMA was born.
Dr. Barber attended Oklahoma State University and was given the distinction of being one of OSU’s “Top Ten Freshman” men. He served on the President’s Leadership Council, Oklahoma State Spirit Group, and was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. Dr. Barber received his Doctorate in Optometry from Northeastern State University and graduated with honors while earning his bachelor’s degree in vision science during his time at NSU.
Before taking over Texas State Optical, one of Fort Worth’s oldest and most respected eye care practices, Dr. Barber specialized in ocular disease at Young Eye Institute in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was also Executive Director of American Laser Vision in Fort Worth.
Dr. Barber specializes in understanding how the human eye works, as well as diseases and conditions that affect your vision—many of which do not always have obvious symptoms. Dr. Barber knows how age and risk factors affect vision over time for the young and old, and he understands the benefits and features of corrective lenses—in both eyeglasses and contact lenses.
Dr. Barber takes the time to listen to your concerns, educate and explain the results of your eye exam, and describe your options while considering your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital for monitoring, diagnosing, and treating potential vision problems.
One of Dr. Barber’s true passions is spending time with his wife and three children. However, he also considers his patient’s family, and enjoys discussing sports, life lessons, and gathering parenting advice along the way.
Dr. Barber oversaw the construction of the the state of the art building that won the first place “TEXO distinguished Building” award, the AIA Fort Worth “Excellence in Architecture” award, and “Best Optical Display” from Professional Eyecare Associates of America. CHROMA was awarded the 2021 “GameChanger” award by Eyecare Business magazine given out to fewer than 10 Doctors in the United States. The innovative building has been featured in “Doctor’s Worth Knowing” in the Fort Worth Magazine.

Dr. Viren Choksi, Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist
Dr. Viren Choksi, also known as Dr. V, has served the Dallas-Fort Worth community for many years. He attended Purdue University and graduated with a bachelor’s in biological sciences. Dr. V then pursued his master’s degree in public health at Drexel University, specializing in environmental and occupational health.
After completing his master’s degree, Dr. V attended Pennsylvania College of Optometry and received his Doctorate in Optometry. During his time there, Dr. V trained at the world-renowned Wills Eye Hospital and The Eye Institute in Philadelphia. He graduated with honors and was awarded “Highest Clinical Excellence Citation in Pediatric Internship at The Eye Institute in Pennsylvania.”
Dr. V is a believer in high-quality, “patient-first” care. Not only does he take the time to build relationships with his patients, but he also takes the time to listen to their concerns actively.
Dr. V provides solutions and treatments based on each patient’s individual needs and will always take the time necessary to provide the best eye care. His clinical interests include contact lenses, myopia control, pediatric and diabetic eye care, and glaucoma and macular degeneration management.

In his free time, Dr. V enjoys volunteering at his local temple, rooting for his favorite sports teams (Liverpool Football Club, Dallas Mavericks), and spending time with his wife and son.
